Liability Waiver

It is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Mama & Me Adventure Club - Maple Valley event. https://forms.gle/aBxKJiLuDSus9y9D7 The document is really long - as it was written by lawyers - in short you are acknowledging that:
- you are participating voluntarily
- you are aware and responsible to respect your physical and mental conditions and limits
- you are aware of inherent risks in and out of our control
- you are taking full responsibility for any and all injuries, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses that may incur as a result of participating in Mama & Me Adventure Club – Maple Valley Events.
- you are releasing all photos & videos taken during the events.* (*I am only posting pictures outside of our group with kids' faces covered or blurred.)
- you agree to all of our group rules (be kind, curious, reliable, responsible, etc.)
You waive all claims and liability against MAMA & ME ADVENTURE CLUB – MAPLE VALLEY and our volunteers, affiliates, etc.  Thank you for your understanding and help.

What is your sick policy?

Our adventures are outdoors, where exposure is less intense. I wouldn't worry about a runny nose (unless it is yellow/green colored) or a lingering cough. However, kiddos should be symptom-free of the following for 24 hours prior to tagging along vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, fever (any grade), and obvious contagious conditions (like head lice, pink eye, mumps, etc.). Please use your best judgment and remember, that fresh air does magic to our immune system too!

When can I join after having a new baby?

If you had a healthy pregnancy and a normal vaginal delivery, you should be able to start exercising again soon after the baby is born. Usually, it is safe to begin light exercising a few days after giving birth—or as soon as you feel ready. If you had a cesarean birth or complications, ask your ob-gyn when it is safe to begin exercising again. - from the ACOG website

I would start with walking (TEDwalk, Playground Meetups) and then transition into workouts and hikes after the 6-week mark. Always pay attention to your body and make sure you are not pushing yourself too much! We are adventuring/working out together to have fun, not to prove anything! Please feel free to ask if you need help with anything!

I do not feel very fit / have health issues, would the stroller workouts/hikes be too much for me?

Unless your doctor said you should not exercise/walk, our adventures should not be too much. You can push hard and get an intense workout during the stroller workout if you want, or you can just do whatever you feel like doing that day. I am happy to give you modifications* if you would like me to. Most of our hikes are planned with toddlers in mind, meaning they are slow and short. We are all happy to be outside in the fresh air and enjoy each other's company more than anything else, so don't worry too much, just tag along! (Don't forget to sign our liability waiver and ask your doctor if you are having doubts.)

*Please note that Andrea, has completed multiple group fitness certifications during her 15+ years of working as an instructor, however, she is NOT keeping up with her continuing education, hence she is not considered a licensed instructor.

My baby is just a few months/weeks old, your adventures seem to be more for toddlers.

Most of our adventures are designed to be enjoyable for babies and toddlers at the same time. Babies love to look around, enjoy nature, and follow busy toddlers around. Toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy the activities/missions, nature, each other's, and the babies' company. Walks/workouts are all stroller friendly, hikes are short enough for them to have a ton of fun in the baby carrier and then explore at the destination. There are very few events (like the Ski Basics Class) where I had to set a minimum age requirement. If you are still wondering what to join, please message me in the Fb group, I am happy to help!

Can Dads and Grandparents join us?

Definitely, unless it is a stroller workout or the event specifically states that it is Mamas only (Mamas Only Hike/Kayak Date, Mamas' Night Out). We love and encourage the whole family to create outdoor memories together!

My kid doesn't like to be in a stroller, but I would love to join the workouts. What can I do?

First of all, don't expect it to go perfectly! We are all accustomed to some screeching anyways. Kids are going to last longer every week and in a month you are all set for adventures. Plus you successfully taught a life lesson: we don't always get to do things the way we want them.

Second: Bring tons of snacks, some toys, and trust the power of nature, the company of other people, and that this workout is designed to be fun for kids too!
I intentionally left screens out of this list. Let's trust the process, our kid's creativity, and resilience! <3

Kiddos need to stay in the stroller while Mamas are working out unless they can stand right by you during the workout.

How can I reach out to Andrea?
